“Philander” - Glen Hansard
I’ve been a big Glen Hansard (and Swell Season and Marketa Irglova) fan for several years, but I’m not sure how I feel about this. I like the video and the tune, but the lyrics are leaving me behind a little. Philander is a verb basically meaning to engage in casual sex. He is using it as a noun and proclaiming his love to Philander. :-/ WHAT ABOUT MARKETA? Or maybe he is proclaiming his love to casual sex itself and not a woman with whom he engaged in casual sex. Classy, Glen. Oh well—I’ll just go listen to “Feeling the Pull.”
